ChannelAlert 1.0.4 - validation report
Date: 06/10/2026
Authors: Kpihuss & Gingerbel
Lineage: Derived from the original RetAlert addon by Zomega.

LOCALIZATION
- English and Spanish string tables are included.
- Fresh-install default: English (use_spanish=false).
- General tab exposes a Use Spanish toggle.
- Slash language switching supports: language/lang/idioma with en/es.
- Configuration GUI is invalidated after language changes and rebuilt on the next open.
- Ability/career names remain original RoR English identifiers by design.
- Spanish localization source is stored as Windows-1252 for WAR/RoR client compatibility with accented characters.

IDENTITY / PACKAGING
- Addon manifest name: ChannelAlert.
- Primary slash command: /channelalert.
- Legacy slash alias: /retalert.
- Current settings table: ChannelAlert_Settings.
- Legacy RetAlert_Settings is declared only so existing settings can be imported.
- Internal alert window remains RetAlert_Main intentionally for Layout Editor placement compatibility.

FUNCTIONAL BASELINE
- Multiple monitored Ability IDs are supported.
- Destruction channelled abilities remain available as built-in toggles.
- Custom numeric Ability IDs remain supported.
- Alert duration, opacity, sound, layer and Layout Editor behavior remain supported.

NOT EXECUTABLE HERE
A live Return of Reckoning client is unavailable in this environment, so final UI rendering, actual combat-event delivery and Layout Editor persistence must still be verified in game.

Additional 1.0.4 validation
- PASS Localized alert textures are present in Textures/ and referenced by ChannelAlert.xml.
- PASS ChannelAlert_UpdateAlertTexture() switches between the EN and ES textures using the saved language flag.

Additional 1.0.4 validation
- PASS No custom Ability ID textbox/tab is created by ChannelAlert_Config.lua.
- PASS Runtime lookup is built exclusively from ChannelAlert_AbilityCatalog.
- PASS Legacy custom_ability_ids are cleared during normalization.
- PASS Every hardcoded Ability ID has a corresponding toggle path.
- PASS Ability controls are grouped under their owning career.

Additional 1.0.4 validation
- PASS The removed legacy Slayer trigger is absent from the hardcoded catalog and configuration UI.
- PASS Saved ability toggles are rebuilt only from current catalog IDs, pruning removed/stale IDs.
- PASS Ability controls remain grouped by career and use reduced vertical spacing.
